CAPPADOCIA

In Cappadocia history communes with nature in the finest way. While geological incidents have formed the fairy chimneys, in the flow of the history, people have made houses and churches into these fairy chimneys and decorated them with frescos and eventually carried the traces of thousands of years old civilizations to the present.

In the times of the Roman Emperor Augustus, a writer of antique period Strabon indicates the borders of large Cappadocia region in his book “Geographika”-including 17 books-(Anatolia XI, XIII, XIV): Toros mountains in the south, Aksaray in the west, Malatya in the east and it reaches to the East-Black sea shores.

Today’s Cappadocia region is the place where Nevsehir, Kayseri, and Aksaray are located. Urgup, Avanos, Goreme ,Mustafapasa, Ayvali, Derinkuyu, Kaymakli, Soganli ,Uchisar , Ihlara and their environment constitute the rocky Cappadocia region which is not as spacious as the former one.

Gamirasu Hotel is located in the Ayvali Village of Urgup which is the heart of Cappadocia.
